If I am right in assuming that you are female, you should know and inform others that womens' symptoms for heart attack are different from mens'. They are not at all obvious, and usually do not include left arm pain. What they do commonly experience in an extreme fatigue that they can't fight off. They will often think they are just tired and need rest only to pass away in their sleep.

There is very little information out there to educate women on the symptoms of heart attack, but I have found this list;

It's vital to be able to recognize the symptoms of a heart attack.
Chest discomfort, pressure or burning
Chest or abdominal discomfort or pain spreading to the shoulders, neck, arm, or jaw
Discomfort or pain between the shoulder blades *
Shortness of breath *
Sweating
Nausea or vomiting *
Indigestion or gas-like pain *
Dizziness or fainting
Unexplained weakness or fatigue
Sense of impending doom

It does not matter that the first time it was not your heart. It could be this time. I would suggest, that you find someone to take you to the ER, even if it has to be the ambulance. Or, call the nurse at ER and ask to speak with a doctor. This is the most important thing I want to say to you. I also have another reason to share, but I hope you take my advice and get to the ER tonite. For women, heart attacks are silent killers. We don't always get pain like men do on the left side of their body. So please take my advice in this paragraph more strongly than the next thing I am going to tell you.

When you had the flu, did you throw up? Did you wretch from trying to throw up but couldn't? Have you fallen lately, have you been coughing? If so, you may have a condition called costochondritis. It is an inflammation of the rib cage, and is caused by falling, coughing--- or throwing up, cuz throwing up or dry heaves affects your whole upper torso, and your abdomen as well. It can also come on for no reason.

The doctor diagnosed me with this, then my brother, then my friend. It can be helped by Ibuprofen, it will help the inflammation go down, so you don't feel so sore. Bring this up to your doctor when you go see him, and I do urge you to go now. Don't feel stupid. ER professionals know that there are many symptoms that can cause the chest to hurt, and it is not always the heart, but the fact that it can be, they take this very seriously. I don't think you want to go thru heart trouble just to save some dignity, would you, hon? Call the doctor.

If you have any other questions about costochondritis, you can email me. But, please call your doctor. Especially if your chest is getting tight. That is not a good sign...

Chest pains are often caused by gastric reflux/heartburn. This type of pain is usually either a burning sensation or a sharp pain in the chest. I found this out the hard way after rushing to the hospital with severe chest pain! Take some pepsid AC. Heart attack symptoms include a sensation of pressure, squeezing pain in the middle of the chest, and a radiating pain in the arms, but this is not always the case with women. Women experience different heart attack symptoms than men. Chest pains are nothing to mess with. Even if it is just gastric reflux, it doesn't hurt to get this checked out and confirmed.

Honey no one can answer that question but a doctor. You did say that you are just getting over the flu and haven;t been eating. Did you eat today? Are you sure that it isn't heartburn? Sometimes it can even be a panic attack and you wouldn't even know the difference unless you go to the hospital to be checked out. You little nothing could turn out to be a big something so even if you are embarrassed to get an ambulance if you are worried and feel pain please call them. Good Luck and God Bless you

Calling 911 is never a bad thing if you feel you need immediate medical attention.

Have you been coughing? That MAY be the chest pain.

Push fluids and at the very least call someone, friend or family, to be with you.

I wish you well!

You need to be seen. You may have pnumonia. BUT more seriously, you may seriously have something more going on. Definitely go to the ER. Do you have someone who could come pick you up? Maybe call a Taxi?

It could also be that when you sneezed or coughed, you may have pulled a muscle. You could have anxiety. You could have gas. Just have it checked out to be sure. Don't wait.

Do you have an asprin you could take (just one)?

Everyone should contact 911 if they are experiencing chest pain of any sort. It'll be just that ONE time that you don't that you wish you did.

You might want to get to a doctor. It could be that you're not used to eating normally, but heart attacks can be sneaky.

Good luck.
