i heard from a friend that you can make a vegan friendly cake with duncan hines chocolate cake mix and any brand of drak soda like coke rootbeer or dr. pepper.
is it true? i wouldn't know, i know nothing about vegan lifestyles.

It's another vegan chocolate cake, a delicious one!

Welfare Cake

"This cake is so moist that you would swear it was from a box!"
Original recipe yield: 1 - 9x13 inch pan.

INGREDIENTS:
3 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups white sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 teaspoons salt
1 tablespoon baking soda
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 tablespoons distilled white vinegar
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups water

DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch pan.
In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa, salt and baking soda. Make a well in the center, and pour in the oil, vinegar, water and vanilla.
Mix well, then pour into a 9x13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

10 oz. cola, any flavor, not diet (open a 12 oz can and take a couple sips)
PREPARATION:
In a bowl, mix together cake mix and soda. Pour into greased cake pan. Bake according to directions on the box. That's it! You won't believe how quick and how easy this cake recipe is!
Hint: For a chocolate cake, use a dark soda, like Coke or Pepsi.

For a yellow cake or spice cake, use a light soda like Sprite or 7-up.

Why would a person who is health concious enough to be a vegan, want to ingest such items as premade cake mixes and soda, which has refined sugar, corn syrup, many fats, etc?
