The probability is very low that you can be infected with an STD simply my kissing. Some of the other respondents are correct...if your partner has open sore in his/her mouth and they have certain types of communicable disease, then yes...it is possible.

TO emeka n....you are either ignorant about STD's, didn't understand the question or just enjoy spreading WRONG, INCORRECT and potentially dangerous information. You stated that NO!NO!NO! STD are not contagious. Pardon me for being blunt...but you are either an idiot, a liar or both.

Genital herpes,genital warts, chlamydia, HIV,
gonorrhea, syphilis, HPV, Herpes simplex 2, hepatitis B (HBV), trichomoniasis, chancroid and nongonococcal urethritis...to name some of the common STDs. Everyone of these is considered as being communicable or contagious.

And then the age group at the greatest risk of infection...15-24.

So either get informed about the reality of STDs or shut the Fu*K Up because your lack of knowledge is putting you and anyone who listens to you at risk.

Or maybe your infected with one of the STD's and hate yourself so much that you want other people to become infected.

Yes, if they have a blister or their lips are chapped or they are bleeding. You can have a microscopic tear on your lip and he could have one too. So it is possible under the right circumstances. If you are gonna kiss someone with AIDS, just make sure his lips aren't really dry because usually that's when they get the tears. If they have any sores don't even think about kissing.

Someone with an oral form of herpes such as cold sores can give you herpes by kissing or having oral sex. 1 out every 4 Americans is carrying the herpes virus and most don't know it. Check out www.webmd.com. This site has a lot of information regarding this issue.

My doctor's nurse informed me that if you have genital herpes; it can be passed to the mouth, if there was oral sex performed. And the virus can last there just as long as the leisions from the genital infection can. Which then should be treated just as HSV1 (cold sore herpes) would be treated.
