Never English mustard... but I always would trick my nephews into eating wasabi or tabasco... ahh I'm such a cruel aunt.
A few years ago, I was babysitting my nephews and eating carrots with bleu cheese dressing (I had the jar in the living room with me), and my one year old or so (at the time) nephew dumped and ate the dressing when I went to the bathroom. When I came back, I thought he had eaten half a jar (I didn't see most of it spilled on the floor), I cried, and I called up my brother and sister-in-law and said, "Is it OK for babies to eat bleu cheese dressing?" And they STILL allow me to babysit!

No of course not, but as a toddler I took a spoonful myself, to the great amusement of all the adults at the table (this was in the Olden Days, when entire families sat around what was known as a "dining table" ate their food together and talked to each other)
Of course I yelled, but while I was yelling, I remember registering that there was something about the taste I liked, and today I love English mustard, wasabi, horseradish - all that hot stuff.

I was given some when I was a toddler, on the side of my plate, at every meal, because I asked for it. I felt very grown up.

My brother swallowed a small piece of metal (well he was 4 or so) our Auntie gave him mustard, vinegar & warm water. He vomitted wildly & up came the metal. Its a well known trick amongst South African Aunties.

Not into Sadism myself, but Mr. Coleman once said that he made a fortune from what people left on the side of their plate.

How cruel!
I'd only use Coleman's Original English Mustard.
And only when it is used to make the cheese sause for baked mac-and-cheese!
