Because, it is the first time that i did have sex to a stranger, and worried that i might get an HIV virus or even other sexually transmitted disease. Just want to get some information regarding these, because i'm really bothered, because i dont even know how safe a condom is. What should i do? because the next day after having sex with that pick up girl, i feel so unconscious and paranoid, about my health status now. Hope someone can provide an answer. Because after that incident, i promise myself not to do it again. Because i dont want the feeling after that.

it is never safe! Pay attention to your conscience, that is what it is there for, to warn you.. See your doctor and get checked up regularly! and Practice Abstinence!

Plus, my father used a condom and I am here, and was not suppose to be!

I worked for the Health Department as an STD Nurse, and I can tell you with 100% assurance that
"Condoms are not anywhere near as safe as you hear they are"!! If I had to rate them, I would give them a 65-75% "safe rate", based on the findings at the clinic. The number of people who stated that they used a condom; and still got an STD has gone up incredibly. Even if the condom had a hole in it, that still counts as unreliable, Reliable means that you can trust it! If there is a chance that it came with a hole or it got a hole in it, that means it is unreliable.

During my STD classes; I had to look for; and diagnose STD from slides and cultures. Some of the STD's could not be seen on high powered microscope (not your cheap one, the top of the line kind ), I relied on a computer that analyzed the DNA and/or chemicals of the sample, and culture growth. Then the computer would give me a read- out on the composition of the sample, and it's finding.

A condom looks like a sponge on low power magnification, there-for it only stops big size STD that can not fit through it.

Do not forget that a condom does not cover everything, all STDs do not come from the main part of the genitalia, a lot of them come from the area that is not covered.
STD's do not always show up right away, some can take weeks, months and years. Others show up right away; within a few weeks.

My Advise, Go see a Doctor and get checked out,
Practice Abstinence,
if you cannot control your desires; Be a married monogamist and make sure that your partner is also, that way your chances of getting an STD is almost none.

Be Safe!!!!

They are not 100% safe.

However, if the condom stayed intact and none of your genitals touched hers (it's possible during sex even with a condom) then you should be okay.

However, if any oral sex was performed without a condom, STD's can still be transmitted that way as well.

Sex with strangers can be risky. A lot of people have herpes and do not feel the need to tell their partners - esp. if it's someone random they will never see again. I reccommend not attempting that again.

Condoms are about 90% effective, and the failure is mostly human error. They are very important and useful as protection, but not perfect.

Having sex with a stranger is pretty foolhardy in this day and age, I think you really understand that already. FOr your peace of mind, you need a physical exam and some lab tests to determine if you picked up chlamydia, yeast, gonorrhea, syphilis, herpes, hepatitis, HIV or anything else.

Don't beat yourself up, just get good medical care and counselling and resolve to use better judgment in the future. I'm glad you at least used protection.

condoms are not 100% safe, anything could go wrong, rips tears, fall off holes. The only thing that is going to make you feel better is going to a clinic and getting tested. That is the only way to make the paranoid feeling go away. Get checked and then use your head and be smarter next time.

Everyone know condoms are a good way to help prevent stds, your question is what percentage, I read a study that said condoms were 85% effective they are not 100% because the chances of breakage, tears or slight pin holes that may compromise its integrity, so If use a condom and its intact after intercourse I'm sure your fine.

Yeah we've heard that one before, "Never again! Never again!"

Next time Me-so-hony's walkin down the street, you gonna resist her?

A pick-up girl, eh? Well I'm a pick-up man. Oh you can set my truck afire, and roll it down a hill, but I still wouldn't trade it for a Coupe De Ville. Got an 8 foot bed that doesn't have to be made. Ya' know if it weren't for trucks we wouldn't have tailgates. I met all my wives in traffic jams! You know there's somethin' women like about a pick-up man!

Maybe there's somethin' men like about a pick-up girl?

Condoms are extremely effective. No, not 100%, but definitely 99% of the time they are. But if it's really bothering you that badly go get checked out.
