I've always loved fruit juice so if my blood sugar gets low I have a bit of that - it tastes good, goes down quick and raises by blood sugar fast. There's always juice at home - and I'm usually able to buy some if I'm out. Bananas are also a favourite... they always work well...... but they do get smooshed...... but if I'm at home that's what I have :)

Coca Cola. I was a HUGE Coke nut before I was diagnosed, and now the only time I can have it is when the BG sinks too low.
I try to savor the taste as much as possible. And the aftertaste.
Practicality-wise, Coke is available almost everywhere, and my husband keeps a huge supply of it in the house.

I usually just take four glucose tablets. They are easy and it keeps me from over treating and becoming high later. If I'm at home I have a big jug of cranberry-grape juice in the fridge. I only drink it when I go low. Two big gulps right out of the jug will have me back on track in about 15 minutes.

I usually like Peanut M&M's...you get the sugar boost from the chocolate and the protein to keep your sugars up. Even if they get really hot, like sitting in a car for a week...they generally don't melt and can be eaten.

I like Capri Suns. I always need more than 15 grams of carb. The Capri Suns are like 25, correct amount for me. The container is durable and squishy, so I can put it anywhere. And they taste good. Plus liquid works faster than solid food.

I am diabetic, formerly on metformin, now by diet alone. When I go hypo (and I do naturally) I grab for protein, not sugar - unless I want to go on the rollercoaster.
My current snack is soy nuts (protein mainly), sunflower seeds (good fat and carb) and almonda (good fat and carb). It will keep me from going too low, and will stabilize/raise me without going too high.
I learned this from the "Enter the Zone" book, by Barry Sears, Ph.D.

I love love love Barg's red creme soda. I know they have it in diet but it's just not the same! I have found that soda will bring my blood sugar up faster than juice/fruit.

When I'm out and about, I carry kids drinking boxes with me. They don't have to be chilled, light weight and small and about the right amount of sugar.
