It's a large summer squash - similar to a large zucchini, or yellow squash.

Koosa is the Arabic word for a courgette (also used in Hebrew slang, as the Hebrew word - kishoo - is quite similar). Koosa Makhshi is a courgette hollowed and stuffed with a mixture of rice, minced meat and herbs.

Its a pale green colored zuchinni. They are usually used in Maashi (stuffed vegetables), The stuffing mixture is rice mixed with cooked onion/tomatoe sauce, fresh minced dill and well cooked minced meat. Zucchinni, bell peppers and eggplants can be stuffed. First scoop out the centers of the vegies. Stuff, then simmer in tomatoey soup or chicken stock. Use lots of spices in the stuffing!
