It should be safe to eat but it might disappoint you if you're fussy about the quality of your meat.
Animals which have a good diet taste much better.
Labrador's are well known as the rubbish bins of the dog world and will eat anything. Seriously, a friend of mine has one and that baby waits while her cat has a s.hit only to enjoy gobbling it down afterwards.
Up to you mate. Personally I'd prefer a corn fed chicken fed organic Lhasa
Apso.

Your Sick, My dog just died, and I miss her, the owners of this dog you have got, will be looking for it all over the place & would be heart broke if they knew it had been eaten, as most dog lovers like to dispose of there dead animals respectfully.

I am also shocked that so many other people on here are not dog lovers.
I could go on, but what's the point.

Yeah, should be fine. Just make sure you wash it well before cooking. Can I suggest a Labrador stir-fry, chop it into bite-sized pieces, fry it off in a hot wok with some bean sprouts, sugar snap peas and carrots, finish with a bit of soy sauce.

Don't forget that the liver makes a delicious pate.

Bon Appetit!

Would you eat anything found dead at the side of the road? If you aren't afraid of the bacteria that starts to develop immediately following death (warm or not) then sure, go ahead and have some dog to eat. I'm sure the owners of the dog won't mind that you didn't try to contact them and that their kids will be fine crying themselves to sleep at night and hoping every day that she comes back home.

Yes of course it is safe to eat, it is only blimmin` meat for Gods sake.

Any ideas on recipes would be most welcome as I have my eyes on a lame Great Dane ( I have a large family ) it might just lurch out into the main road if I startled it.

Bon appetit !

Only if you are certain of the "cause of death". Most dogmeat destined for the table (just like beef or pork) comes from farms, where the health status of the animals can be carefully monitored.

You have to be careful. Cut off a sample and send it for analysis. Wait for the Lab report before you consume.
