mold

Mold on surface of jelly (credit: (Left) Ingmar Holmasen, (right) Stephen Collins)In biology, a conspicuous mass of mycelium and fruiting structures produced by various fungi (division Mycota; see fungus). Molds of the genera Aspergillus, Penicillium, and Rhizopus are associated with food spoilage and plant diseases, but some have beneficial uses, as in the manufacture of antibiotics (e.g., penicillin) and certain cheeses. Neurospora, or orange bread mold, has been invaluable in the study of biochemical genetics. Water molds live in fresh or brackish water or wet soils, absorbing dead or decaying organic matter. there are a few molds which have been isolated and developed for specific cheeses or wines and have a point of origin however no one is telling and getting your hands on one may be difficult but most molds are common and you probably have some in your shower. I had a great one for wine that found me but it was b4 I knew what I had and did not develop it. Lost for now.

If you mean the fuzzy (NOT the warm and fuzzy type mind) stuff on the old bread, it doesn't. It predates humanity which means it is older than countries as those were invented by people who had no idea how much trouble the things would be. So, you'll just have to accept a planet as an answer and there is only one to choose from.

Actually, "MOLD" only comes from America.

MOULD, on the other hand, has no such bias and is found all over the globe - including (but not exclusive to) America...!!!
