Yes, we do. But there are some differences. We have thousands of salsas, since we grow a huge number of chili species. Each state, city, ranch, hotel, street stand and neighborhood in Mexico have its own particular home recipe to create salsas.
By the way, there are sweet salsas, salty salsas and hot spicy salsas. These last are the best known internationally.

Salsa is much better that Ketchup and yes it is used just as often. What a nice trade huh? When I go to a Mexican restaurant I cover everything in salsa....we have a favorite we go to weekly. The salsa boy knows me by name and automatically brings me my own bowl....twice a lunch!

No. But chili as it is called is always on the table, or in the frig. It is a staple. Just a health note here, but if you eat more foods that are high in protein like beans, and foods that are hot you have less colds and flus...Take a look at the Hispanics in your area..they dont get bad colds,flu,allergies..like americans do.

When I went to Mexico I couldn't find tacos, enchiladas, salsa or any of that anywhere. All they had was burgers and steaks.

in a sense yes ,almost all mexican,and desent,use some sort of picante in their meals,it's either cooked in or added before consuming .
