My brother is living in Taiwan and I wanted to send him a package... Are there any foods or items Americans use that aren't available there that I could include?

More then likely, its something homemade rather then store bought. A care package with homemade candy, cookies, etc; will make him the most popular guy on post. Make it a big package. Make it several packages spaced out. Each one different than the last. Don't forget the pictures from home, the notes and letters from friends and family. And the biggest box of tissues you can find. :-D

The best thing is to ask your brother what he misses the most and what he can't find there. When my boyfriend lived in Japan (and before I went there to join him), he mentioned not being able to buy oatmeal easily, so I sent him a little package of oatmeal.

Keep in mind that he may be missing a specific brand of food as well.

There don't like European style baked bread over there. Everything is soft steamed sweet pastries. If there was a way to get him some reasonable fresh baguettes or something. Maybe some bagels?
