How come some people don't like tomatoes or mangos?
I had old friends who disliked all the good foods like tomatoes and mangos.

I guess it just depends on everyone's tastes and preferences. But, I have NEVER EVER met anyone who does not like mangoes! That is something new. Everyone I know would qualifiy mangoes and strawberries as their favourite fruit of all time. And they are all kinda bummed that they're only found in the summer.

hey every body has different tastes. I love mangoes but do not like raw tomatoes at all. I can't eat tomatoes raw but any vegetables cooked in tomatoes I'll eat

Not to be rude, but that's a really stupid question.

Those foods are delicious to you, but not to your friends. Everyone has a different definition of delicious, and for your friends, those things aren't included.

Do you, for example, think that boiled chicken feet are delicious? Most Americans don't, but folks from Singapore or China think they're a great treat! Do you like brussell sprouts? I think they're delicious!

Everones taste buds are different ,also your taste changes the older you get.
Sometimes people associate taste with an experience ,lets say you bit into an apple with a worm in it ,you probably would be less inclined to eat an apple the next time around.

I used to be picky like that. I would only eat white foods like mashed potatoes and cottage cheese. After a while, I started trying squash and peas and spinach, and discovered I liked them way more than my white food.

Also, part of the problem must be that people's first experiences with some foods might not have been so plesant, like they were not fresh or cooked properly, and then they were just turned off from it forever and unwilling to try it again. (why would you if you didn't like it?)

Everybody is different. I love to taste different foods...how else do you know what you like? My hubby has long hated most veggies, but I tend to attribute that to the fact that his parents never really had him try them. I try to get my kids to try as many different foods as possible. Some people (like my 5 year old) simply don't like foods that have a juicy center, but my 3 year old loves them! Everybody has their own food quirks. Besides, how boring would it be if everyone like the same foods?

They may have underdeveloped taste buds. Or truly believe the fruits you mentioned don't taste good. I myself dislike the taste of tarragon in anything. It must taste very good because it is used in many foods but I cannot like that taste, even the smell will make my stomach turn sour. It just happens that we like what we like and whatever we don't we don't, go figure.

Taste is really what you grew up eating i think. I eat everything because i grew up eating it. that is the reason why a lot of americans don't like ethnic foods because as children their parents did not introduce them to these types of foods.

chinese people eat all parts of the chicken that;s because they ate it as children. Japanes people eat sushi when they are children too that's why they love it.

But as an adult I think it depends on how open minded and adventurous you are. some people don't even want to try anything and i think it's because they are closed minded.

What is for me, may not be good for you, I happen to like meat, and of course you don't. Nothing wrong with that, but why do you say that I, or others don't like delicious food when I or others like meat, and you like veggis? Who is to say what is delicious besides our likes and dislikes? You like what you like, and I like what I like, and I respect that.
