but since it needs to be soaked, its pretty wet.
Do you veggies out there actually "brown" quorn as you would mince meat? (its so wet i can't see this working)

So is the answer yes or no?
The quorn i would have is dry and must be soaked. I know about flavouring it and what you can use it for!

You can't get 'dry' Quorn. Quorn is a trademark...do you really mean TVP (textured veg protein)? This does need soaking...

Sorry but it's not very clear to me what you're saying- I have never heard of soaking Quorn. Are you referring to Quorn brand products? Cuz they are all pre-made and either frozen or refrigerated, not dry.
If a recipe is calling for you to soak it, as you would if it were meat, maybe you should try and think of another way.

Never heard of soaking quorn.
We buy it as a textured material, similar consistancy to chicken.
It doesn't brown too much , just heats up, so its a good idea to flavour it with peppers or herbs.
Well, thanks for the insult. I've re-read my answer and think its reasonable. You could always look at your question and decide if it was specific enough to get a specific correct answer, rather than blaming others. There are about 100 Quorn products on the market, how the hell are we supposed to know which one your are talking about.

I never soaked quorn at all. Does it say to do that on the directions? I just made quorn tenders and they are used just like chicken.

You really have to flavour Quorn mince as its very bland. Add some worcestershire sauce, squirt of tom puree an oxo cube and plenty of seasoning. I make shepherds pie using this and meat eaters love it too!

corn? There's substance like tempeh and tofu that have the consistency of meat to make meatless identical dishes to meat ones. I'm sure faux mince meat can be made using vegetables and tofu, or other protein product.

u don't need to soak it. you can cook it as it is. i cook veggie mince for about 10 mins and don't add water to it. i think the water is only used to bulk it up.
