I have a very bad cold and don't know what "over the counter" medicine I can take that won't interfere with coumadin (blood thinner) and insulin for diabetes.

I don't know about the blood thinner ( i would guess anything with aspirin in it) but if you are a diabetic you certainly need a cough med with no sugar in it. and you would be surprised at how many do. Ask your pharmacist

I have very similar problems (except I have a medium asthma condition, not mild). In the condition like yours I usually take 3 pills of Ibuprofen at one time 200mg each. I can do it 2 times per day for 3 days. This will help for both headache and cold. If this does then I know I need to start taking antibiotics.... Sudafed can cause more headaches if i use it regularly. It makes me agitated.

If I were you I would talk with a pharmacist. My PCP would look in his computer when he was prescribing new medication for me because of the side effects. My new Dr. had not opened a book, nor hand held computer as of yet.
