It's interesting to see the different way people combine chicken and waffles.

What my family makes is completely different from what has been described here. My family is originally from Germany and many of them were Pennsylvania Dutch.

The chicken is in gravy. Usually made with leftover chicken and gravy from sunday dinner. The waffles are not sweet. There's no sugar in the batter. The waffles, when done, are buttered and the chicken and gravy is poured over them.

It's really just a variation on a hot chicken and gravy open face sandwich.

I tried Rosco's Chicken and Waffles because I've heard so many good things about it but I don't get what all the hype is about. It seriously just tasted like an eggo with a KFC piece of chicken. The combination's not bad but I just don't understand what the big fuss is about.

There's a Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles near me and the food is really good! I know it sounds strange, but haven't you ever had chicken and biscuits? It's similar.

The only thing I didn't like was that it's expensive. It's like, 9$ for a plate of like, 2 small pieces of chicken and one waffle. I'd eat there more often if it weren't so expensive.

This is one of those just try combinations. Also an "art" when prepared to perfection with the proper seasoning in the Chicken, light airy Waffles and then the right syrup. This is a binge item for me, so I do it very infrequently. Approach with caution, it is addicting, when done right.

Dont knock it until youve tried it. Its like how southerners combine fish and grits. The chicken and Waffles satisfies the salt vs sweet tastes.

Speak not of what you know not.
It's wonderful!
Come to Oakland CA and eat your heart out.
You'll never have such light yummy waffles again. And the chicken is magnificent.

It's good! Are you talking about Rosco's Chicken and Waffles because it is good and there is more than chicken and waffles available at the restaurant.

I like both of them but I'd rather eat them in separate meals. Waffles for breakfast and chicken for lunch.

I was wondering the same thing. I watched a show on food network that was talking about it. Apparently it's something eaten in the deep south, usually for a late night snack.
