Epazote is called wormweed here in the US and it not often used, but in Mexican cooking it is used in beans to aid in digestion, it makes them less gassy. I have read reports online that eating alot of it can help things like menstrual cramps, but extreme and prolonged use may effect hearing. Anybody know?

What would constitute extreme use. Prolonged use is understandable, but I think extreme precludes using it in an occasional pot of beans or soup which, by the way, it is also used for in Mexico. Opinion: if you''re using it now and then, I wouldn't worry about it.
