HIV has been found in saliva and tears in very low quantities from some AIDS patients. It is important to understand that finding a small amount of HIV in a body fluid does not necessarily mean that HIV can be transmitted by that body fluid. HIV has not been recovered from the sweat of HIV-infected persons. Contact with saliva, tears, or sweat has never been shown to result in transmission of HIV.

No. It can only be passed in bodily secretions and even if someone were to be a secretor (have blood secreted in saliva) or have a cut on the mouth, the viruss cann;t survive outside the body for more than 4 seconds.....now that would be one heck of a quick drink!
But unless you are talking about the Communion cup, then don't be such a cheapskate... buy a whole round! :-D

No. HIV is spread by blood (i.e. cuts and so on) and sexual fluids but not by saliva. As long as there is neither of these transferred on the glass/cup then there should not be a problem.

From what I remember (I think..could be wrong) from school is that you would have to drink gallons upon gallons of saliva to catch HIV.

No, you need gallons of saliva to pass on the virus, so the same goes for kissing.
HIV can be passed on by infected semen & vaginal fluid, infected blood, or from mother to baby (i.e. through the placenta, vaginal birth, and through breast milk)

no it is not transmitted by saliva.
the only way that this might be a problem is if you have a cut on your mouth say and the recipient also has a cut on their mouth and blood or other fluid from that cut was transmitted. likewise if from the outside of the drink your finger was cut etc etc

Negative, you are more likely to get HIV by your dog licking your face...which means never!
