My baby shower is Saturday, I do not have a lot of money to spend on this, but I would like to make or have something for the people who come to my baby shower.

I stole an idea I saw at Baby Shower Stuff's website (listed below) for a friend's shower.

It is so simple to make a teabag or potpourri favor.

You will need:

cardstock paper - in whatever color you like
Saa paper - which is paper where you can see the fibers or Tracing paper, which is cheaper and still looks cute.
(one sheet of 8x11 paper makes three favors.)
-------------------------------------
hole punch
scissors
ribbon
transparent tape
-------------------------------
individually wrapped teabags (like Lipton) or small potpourri satchets (very cool if you find baby powder potpourri)
-----------------------------
mini pacifier or other embellishment (optional) (get at party wholesale stores, too)
------------------------------

You can pick up most/all of these things at a craft store like Michaels or the supermarket for the teabags.

How To:

You take the cardstock and Saa/Tracing paper put them on top of each other. (Try to do a few at once so that you save time.) Fold them into themselves (like when sticking a letter in an envelope - take the bottomfold upward 2/3rds of the paper fold the top over that.) Cut evenly into three.

Take the top flap and make it short so it looks like in the pic on Babyshowerstuff.com. See it taking shape now?

Use the holepuncher to make a hole at the top through the entire satchel (including that short top flap). Open it up and inside of the folded paper tape the teabag or potpourri satchel. Fold it back up and use the ribbon to seal the whole thing with a bow. (If you decided to have an embellishment like the mini pacifiers, secure them with the ribbon.)

You can get pretty creative with these, adding a little message like the one babyshowerstuff.com did. Or maybe even making this into a game by putting a little paper with a number on each one then have a raffle for small prizes or for whose present gets opened first.

I hope this is simple enough, feel free to modify according to what is available in your area.

Good luck on the shower and Congrats!

Fudge treats and homemade cards are what we did. For about $3.00 you can make 3lb of marshmallow creme fantasy fudge, the recipe is right on the jar. And for about $10 you can make nice homemade thank you cards. Most of these things you can buy at the Dollar General store. Also if you have a Dollar Tree or 99 Cent store you can buy parting gifts or game prizes.

You can use the candy melts (sold at Wal-mart, JoAnn's, Michaels or Hobby Lobby). There are molds there for baby items (diaper pin, baby bottle, baby buggy, etc). Melt your candy melts in the microwave (follow package directions), and then pour these into the molds. Cool and pop out. Buy the tiny celophane bags - place two or three candies in each bag and tie with the appropriate color ribbon - pink, blue, yellow or green! Good luck!

When I threw my sister a baby shower, I went to a craft store and purchased some miniature baby bottles and filled them with bubble bath, and then baught little bags and put some bath crystals in them. That way if you do have men coming, it's not too girlie - men take baths too.

For my sisters baby shower. I got clothes pins the kind that is one piece. I spray painted them a mint green and glued white lace and a pink bow(you can do blue, yellow or white) on them The Lace went around it just under the top part and glued the ribbon where the lace ends. We also glued a magnet on them. so they were refrig magnet also. Just make sure the paint is dryed before glueing anything on them.

baby bottles from the dollar store, filled with pink or blue M&Ms or some other candy, print some labels or little note on the computer on pretty paper and use some ribbon to attach it to the bottle.
