For one thing, I read that raw soybeans contain a substance that prevents absorption of soy protein. Also, if you buy a lot of them you might starve to death because they taste too nasty to eat.

Too much of anything is always a bad thing. Soybeans and soy products have been known to increase the risk of throid disease. But don't take my word for it . . .check out the link to this article.

soy beans are not bad for your health and people who claim that they have estrogen are uninformed. Soybeans have phytoestrogen which fools your body into thinking that it has enough estrogen so it doesn't make more. This does two things, 1. you get all the benefits of estrogen from phytoestrogen without any of the negatives and 2. You lower your lifetime exposure to estrogen which lowers your risk of breast cancer.

If you don't like soybeans then try edemame.

The idea that soy products cause infertility is a myth caused by one study later found to be faulty that showed that women who had diets high in soy products had longer menstrual cycles, again this lowered their lifetime exposure to estrogen and thereby lowered their risk of certain cancers.

No way.

Soybeans are awesome!

Look at the labels of almost any food you eat.

There will be some type of soybean product in there in most instances.

Not sure if you can really eat just plain soybeans, but they are a great way to get protein.

Soy beans and all foods created from it are a great source of protein, however after reading something disturbing about this bean I no longer consume soy. Advice given to me from someone who knows this industry also influenced my decision. Soy is a multi million dollar industry, and in the end it comes down to making money and not the health of us the people. Below is a link to a chapter of a book.

The estrogen they posses is called pyto-estrogen. it's not the same as yours or mine and has protective benefits for heart disease (the AHA even states this) and very probably for cancer. too much of any one thing is bad because as all plants do, Soy contains secondary plant compounds that may cause problems. Thats why the word variety is always included.

(I have to admit, this answer is mostly quotations from the above link.)

Yes: soy contains substances called Trypsin inhibitors, which interfere with protein digestion and may cause pancreatic orders. In test animals soy containing trypsin inhibitors caused stunted growth.

As well as other dangers...

High levels of phytic acid in soy reduce assimilation of calcium, magnesium, copper, iron and zinc. Phytic acid in soy is not neutralized by ordinary preparation methods such as soaking, sprouting and long, slow cooking. High phytate diets have caused growth problems in children.

Soy phytoestrogens disrupt endocrine function and have the potential to cause infertility and to promote breast cancer in adult women. They are also potent antithyroid agents that cause hypothyroidism and may cause thyroid cancer. In infants, consumption of soy formula has been linked to autoimmune thyroid disease.

Processing of soy protein results in the formation of toxic lysinoalanine and highly carcinogenic nitrosamines.

Free glutamic acid or MSG, a potent neurotoxin, is formed during soy food processing and added to many soy foods.

Soy foods contain high levels of aluminum which is toxic to the nervous system and the kidneys.

I recommend you read the link though for better understanding of the dangers, in more detail.

I love soybeans.

I get a package of the Edensoy brand beans - still in the pod - break open the pod, and eat them right out! I love them raw. It's a great snack.

certain, fat is nice. it could be saved and burnt off. Saturated fat can't it truly is why it really is a quite some catagory to fat on the again of packaging. So in end...Saturated fat is undesirable. it might want to't be burnt off that honestly and it would not help your body's functioning in any respect. it really is what makes you fat genuinely
