I don't know if it is just their pale complexions, but why do so many vegans have zits on their face?

If these vegans would eat a little red meat every now and then, that would clear up their zits.

I personally USE to have ZITS when I was NOT a vegan, and then as A vegan I actually saw my complexion "clear up" ...so in reality I could be the poster child for the opposite of what you are suggesting. But I did USE ACCUTANE and so well the pill is what cleared me up.. I was "non-vegan" when I took the pill and if it was experimented on animals well I am sorry to the animal as I am SORRY to the creatures I helped MURDER in the cafeteria... and so as to say.

What causes ZITS may be what? synthetic blue dyes in the m+m's I do not know.
Did you know this~ ALOT of the people who are going around claiming to be vegan are REALLY NOT VEGAN... perhaps that is a reason for your question. Also Some people may be VEGAN, but they may eat "synthetics" which cause the zit...maybe so maybe not....

Zits have nothing to do with red meat... for cryin' out loud, if you are going to post silly statements that you are trying to pass off as questions, try to do some research first!

If you want to eliminate zits you need to ensure healthy skin... that means eating:

# Essential fatty oils (omega 3, 6 & 9) - best found in soya beans/soya oil, sunflower seeds/sunflower oil (tho not after it is heated to fry chips etc), flax seeds (linseeds)/flax oil and first pressing olive oils (again, not heated)...

# Vitamin A is essential for healthy skin. Include plenty of dark orange (carrots, sweet potatoes) and dark green (broccoli, spinach, kale) vegetables - all of which are high in vitamin A.

# Vitamin E helps promote good-looking skin, which is why you should include nuts such as hazelnuts and almonds - which are high in vitamin E - as snacks.

You also need a balance of good quality dietary fibre to help with the elimination processes...

Now, when you REALLY look at how most vegans & veggies eat and how most non-veggies eat, which group is more likely to have these foods in their normal daily diet??

'nuff said.

Dude, how many vegans do you know? You keep posting that they are inferior...from a survey of how many? Natalie Portman isn't zitty. Neal Barnard, Howard Lyman and John Robbins aren't afflicted. The family of 5 that I know are spot free. The pale complexions might be due to them being smarter and more cautious about skin cancer. I know a lot of fat, red faced meat eaters. Is it high blood pressure? Please stop posting here trying to stir everybody up.

Acne is caused by a combination of factors. Hormonal changes can increase the secretion of an oily substance called sebum from the skin’s sebaceous glands which are frequently located adjacent to hair follicles. If skin cells build up and block the opening of hair follicles, subsequent clogging of the sebaceous gland can contribute further to the development of acne.
There nay be some link between diet and acne.

i'm vegan and so is a good friend of mine and neither of us have lots of spots. you either know some vegans who don't eat healthily, or have other problems that are unrelated to their choice of diet.
or you're just basing your opinion on a very small amount of vegans that you've met. which is probably what you're doing. after all, have you met every single vegan in the world? no.

Never met a vegan with zits, or one that was overly pale. Guess you must be living in a different world to me.

Presumably the same reason so many meat eaters have zits on their face: hormone fluctuations, genetic predisposition and poor hygiene.

Two words ' Bubba' - Vision - Express or even its cousin Spec Savers. You need to get that visual defect of yours checked out!!!! Seeing spots in front of your eyes is dangerous !! Veggies and vegans rarely get spots, have nice pale clear complexions and nice thick hair!!

Why do so many meat eaters have double, triple, or quadruple chins? Why do they have diabetes? I have never seen a vegan with zits personally (not saying they don't exist). Teenagers in country's were they don't drink cows milk or the products thereof have no acne.
