My grandfather would always make chex mix, I remember the mixed nuts being so buttery and tasty, with the healthy cereal.
Us kids would bring the healthy snacks, 'ants on a log' (celery stuffed with peanut butter, then raisins) also celery stuffed with cream cheese. expand it to include carrot sticks and cucumber slices. That's all we ever put out, to eat healthy while waiting for the rest.

Mixed nuts with a pumpkin spice glaze!!!!! I also like to make celery sticks with cream cheese filling, add any flavor you like to it, smoked salmon, chives, strawberry for variety. You can even mix cranberry sauce with the cream cheese to keep it along the thanksgiving theme. I think the store even sells flavored cream cheese to make it simple, those are really healthy. Deviled eggs never last at our house, try to boil them at home and bring them with the ingredients to assemble if you have to travel though, so they don't go bad and get smelly :-)

kids tend to like anything "portable"...I like to serve fruit and cheese on fun skewers (can usually find at party stores).

A good seasonal dip is a "caramel" dip served with apple slices.
dip: 8 oz cream cheese
1/2 C brown sugar
1 T. vanilla extract
mix well until all sugar is blended...and serve..tastes just like
caramel and very easy to make..
