Just look at pictures of cold sores and compare with what you have. If it developes a white head or black head then it's a pimple or a blackhead. If it developes small, clear blisters then it's a cold sore and only treatment or time will get it to go away.

It's most likely a pimple. Cold sores spread and are painful, usually. Put alcohol on it several times a day (not the drinkable kind) and it should dry up in a few days.

if you experienced a tingleing sensation at first, then it is probably a cold sore, they also usually hurt. but it sounds to me from your question that it is a pimple. cold sores stay for a long time, but pimples do also.

probably a cold sore.. pimples hurt if you touch them. rub it for like 5 seconds and see if it burns/hurts. if it does, i would say its probably a pimple. if not, its probably a cold sore. cold sores go away on their own as long as you dont bit it or anything

If it gets a white head and stays in the same spot- pimple.
If it looks like little bubbles and breaks, and a clear liquid comes out and turns into a sore-coldsore/ herpes.
Don't touch it alot and keep your hands clean and washed.

tingling sensation before it came on=cold sore
multiple vesicles with clear (serous) fluid all kind of cropped together to look like one big lesion=cold sore.

single red lesion without serous fluid and possibly containing yellow matter= pimple. sometimes may not contain yellow matter.

if cold sore use acyclovir on it. or have your doc give you gancyclovir tablets.

it sounds more like a pimple by your description.

If you notice small and multiple serous vesicles suggesting cold sore ( herpes virus 1) not same as genital herpes ( HSV2) then do not share anything...cups spoons etc with others or kissing...since its contagious.

Herpes stays with you for life, very faithful lil bugger. lives in your trigeminal ganglion, in brain.

Good luck.
