I am throwing a baby shower for my sister, and am having brunch. Does anyone know of any good brunch recipes that are good for a crowd? (about 30 people) I am having fruit and pastries, but I am stuck after that. Looking for both sweet and savory ideas.

Something I have fixed for a brunch that was very popular is a large piece of baked salmon and roasted asparagus. They can both be cooked in the same oven and served either warm or cold. Another favorite I have served is oven roasted potatoes. Cut whole unpeeled potatoes into large cubes, toss in a pan with olive oil, and season however you like (rosemary is great!), and bake. The baked egg casseroles are also very easy and serve a lot of people. Check out the Internet. There are hundreds of really fun recipes available. Just type in "Brunch Recipes" in your search engine and I guarantee you will be entertained for hours checking out the suggestions. Good luck!

The person with the excellent Bloody Mary idea reminded me that at three baby showers I hosted I served "Mimosas" (orange juice and champagne) and that went over very well. People were free to have just plain juice if they preferred.

Also: quiche is a popular dish. I made mine ahead of time and heated them in the microwave at the last minute. Favorites were crab and Swiss cheese; bacon and cheddar cheese; and veggie.

Go to foodtv.com they have great brunch ideas and recipes. I had 10 people over for brunch and made little pancakes with peach puree in them they were a hit I made them a little a head of time and kept them warm in a chafing pan. I also made a smoked salmon frittata it was easy a little time on the stove and finished in the oven cut it into small wedges and go. The small pre-made quiches are pretty good for something easy. Being a baby shower I do not know if this is for you but i had a little bloody mary bar with all the condiments and then made a pitcher of plain Bloody Mary and let my friends spice up their own I also made some virgin Bloody Mary for a pregnant girl that attended.

Ladies like "wrap" sandwiches. Easy to hold, seem low on calories. Also, make some Panini style sandwiches or simple cold-cut sandwiches but do them on crossonts, looks fancier! For the cold-cuts, use ham and swiss, roast beef and chedder, turkey and provolone and then a few vege's for the meatless. Add tomato and lettuce serve with mayo/mustard on the side.

For salads, serve broccolli salad with potato or pasta salad. With your fruit, try adding some yogurt!

Breakfast casseroles, breakfast pizza (the savory kind), bagels and cream cheese, finger sandwiches with mayo salads, the possibilities are endless!

Just don't do a souffle because you never know if it will turn out!

I would make meat balls in a crock pot you can keep it plugged in and put tooth picks next to them so they can grab their own mini meat balls or buy some little wieners and toss them in the crock with BBQ. Or buy some chips and buy a block of Velveeta and chili (no beans) and melt them together in a crock pot. Or make a meat and cheese tray buy some crackers...easy and no mess. I have enjoyed all these at parties. Hope this helped a little with some ideas.
