♡I have to agree with the description Jay and others gave about the black bottom box/tray with transparent lid for sushi. I eat take out sushi for lunch here in Japan often and that's usually how it's packed.
Take a look here, it's a bit small, but you can get a good idea:

These are "candy" sushi boxes, cute wrapping idea, huh?

Good luck with your sushi shaped soap, it sounds CUTE!(*^o^*)
Hope this helps!♡
~BTW, if you're IN Japan, you can get various containers of this type at the 100 yen shop. Take a look! You'll find various types that could work with your soaps.

That sounds really cute, but sushi doesn't come in Chinese containers. I worked a Chinese-Japanese restaurants and for takeout sushi orders they always used deli style containers and saved the Chinese ones for the Chinese food. I would suggest a deli style container with maybe some decorative chopsticks (you know the ones you use for in your hair) fastened to the top. Sushi soap...such a cute idea!

i don't think that the Japanese use the takeout boxes...even though it would look much better than the plastic box....BUT what you could do is use the little boats that they use to bring out the sushi in at the restaurants...only a smaller version so they fit in the bath tub!...oh and i have another idea to make your project a little more original and authentic...you can use a peach/orange/pink-ish wash cloth to represent the ginger!...just a thought!...lol...
**Really cute idea by the way**

Here's a page with various pictures of bentou for take-away / delivery;
http://www.lunch-popeye.co.jp/bentoh.html
(you can click on the images for a slightly closer look.)
The black based box someone mentioned is second from the bottom - the lid isn't shown, but it's transparent plastic in more-or-less the same shape as the base.
All of these boxes would be delivered with a transparent lid, slightly raised (normally) so that the contents can be higher than the top of the base. The ones you buy from supermarkets are pretty similar to these! The boxes with compartments that you buy in supermarkets are just plastic, although some of them look quite solid - like the ones on the web-page..!
Are your boxes like this? In the UK the Chinese take-aways use either foil containers with plastic lids, or polystyrene containers, also with plastic lids. But as you're not in the UK I have no idea what sort of boxes you've got!!

When ever I've gotten sushi its come in these rectangle shaped containers. The bottom is black with gold accents and a clear lid. They usually include this fake green grass stuff along with wasabi and ginger!

put them in bento boxes, or a japanese lunch box. they are almost like tupperware japanese style. just go to a japanese store and ask for lunch boxes that hold rice, or veggies for a lunch box. i think those will look pretty good with your soap.

Oh, yes. They defenetly do. Even though Japan and China are rivals, they defenetly have the best tasting food, and they use the same boxes 95% of the time.

I've never seen Japanese food in a take out box like chinese take out boxes...
In Japan, portions are very small and are meant to be eaten in one sitting. If they are togo..they would go in bento boxes..(look online for examples) or very pretty paper or decorative boxes. If you really want to be detailed..I would suggest ordering cheap bento boxes online..from ebay or something and package it like that...but ...don't put it in chinese take out boxes...
