♡I'd have to say you should try "Toro" (Otoro-fatty tuna belly)! Toro is cut from the tuna's belly and is the most choice part of the fish.

It is praised for its high fat content. It is rich, tender, and literally melts in your mouth like butter! Need I say more? (*^o^*) You have got to try it at least once.(^_-)-☆
Other types I like are "Hirame", halibut that is transparent, and tender, perfect!

It's flavor is delicate and often accented with ponzu sauce.
~And "Ama-ebi" (raw shrimp). One of the greatest delicacies in the sushi case, ama ebi, when cleaned, is shiny, almost transparent, and sweet.♡

I L♡VE ALL Sashimi, but my favorite is 'iseebi' sashimi (lobster), it's delicious!:

Also, you should try 'inari zushi' if they have it. It's delicious!

☆Try everything once, you'll be glad you did. That's what I did when I first came here to Japan. You'll be able to find all YOUR favorites that way. (*^o^*)
Hope this helps, enjoy!♡

I absolutely ADORE sushi! My favourite are probably maki rolls and california rolls. Try a roll with some eel in it.. usually comes with avo or lettuce etc. Having eel as nigiri or on its own can usually be quite salty.
I went to the Hare & Tortoise in London the other day and had the most divine Inari (tofu skin) rolls - lovely sweet mayonnaise in it too! Mmmmm....
Otherwise, Salmon and Avo are majorly complimentary and the deep fried pumpkin fritters are great too!

Yellowtail scallion roll!
Dip it in soy sauce and a little wasabi on it (not much). Yum Yum Yummy.
I'm not much of an eel fan at all though, it's a very powerful flavor. Almost too smoky.
California Roll is not real sushi, but it is pretty good with ginger on top.

I can't do any better than Rosie's answer. Sit at the sushi bar, enjoy the sushi chef's recommendations, and bring a lot of money.

Start with the cooked sushis.... shrimp is a good one. When you feel brave, try salmon or tuna and move on from there. After I've had sushi for dinner, I feel that I have done something healthy for my body.

i like nigiri -- rolls are kind of weird to me -- tamago (the scrabled egg sushi) is considered how you separate great sushi chefs -- the egg should be layered and light -- most don't come close. if you can get ama which is uncooked shrimp i like it a lot more than the standard cooked. friends of mine that like cooked sushi usually always get unagi -- or eel. it is a LOT better as nigiri -- you can barely taste it in rolls.

try eel or halibut if you want to branch out a little. Shrimo, tuna and salmon are all easy picks, but eel, halibut, and soft shell crab make excellent suchi and are more interesting.

Explain yourself to the sushi master and let him provide you with what he thinks you will like.
Have fun!
