That's not entirely true. I've been living in at least 4 different European countries for about 2 years and the only place where I noticed a "hatred" is France.
Europeans might not love it as much as we do, but they do. As the years pass, more and more of them are becoming obese, like the Americans that they make so much fun of. Of course, you don't run into a 420 pound person around here as you might in the states, but one day that just might become a reality.
For example, here in Sweden they have their own hamburger chain called Max Burger and it rules! There are times when the cue is 20 minutes long, yet they still stand there, waiting for their delicious burger. There are a lot of fast food pizza places here too. Norwegians are also fond of Burger King and fast food burger places such as TexBurger just outside of Oslo.

Almost all countries have their own version of fast food. You can find people on the street selling fast food from their own culture from Bangkok to Bangalore to Berlin.
To say that the Europeans don't like 'American' fast food is nonsense. McDonald's is without a doubt the biggest selling restaurant chain in Europe with Burger King and KFC not far behind.
Unfortunately, the Europeans seem to have poorer taste in fast food than the Americans. I say this because the fast food restaurants that seem to make it here in Europe are the poorest examples of American Fast Food.
Better caliber of US restaurants fail. Shame.

Sadly, I think a lot of kids and teens have never eaten good home-cooked or fresh foods regularly, so it tastes bad to them. They grew up on boxed mac-n-cheese and drive thru fries and soda.
So water and juice along with a fresh meal doesn't do anything for them.
Part of this is because most Moms work and are tired and don't have time to cook fresh meals and clean up the kitchen afterwards.
Europe provides much better benefits for families.
Here in the US, men and women work more hours than any other country, often don't take their vacation days, and many don't have health care coverage. So coming home after a long day and cooking is very challenging.

That true ,most of us from Europe dislike Junk Food. But we do have in Germany McDonald and Pizza Hut,also not that wide spread like in the US. This kind of Junk Food is mostly preferred by the Young Ones because it is fast and taste good.
And of course Fast Food is not healthy, we are very health conscious in Germany. Personally I do not eat Fast Food it has no taste for me and is to greasy

Europeans have their own junk food including hamburgers, cheeseburger and so on. However, you need to acquire a taste for Taco Bell and it could take a very loooooooong time.

Because junk/fast food is cr@p, to put it bluntly!
I think that says more about the American palate than it does about Europeans...!!
BTW, the hamburger and cheeseburger are American inventions. The Hamburg steak was the original, and it was perfectly tasty and nice - just a patty made of minced beef, for the use of people who couldn't afford 'real' steaks!! The Americans turned it into a foul piece of muck and slapped it between 2 bits of low quality bread to bulk it out a bit..! The cheeseburger had to be invented because so many people noticed the unpleasant taste of the original hamburger!!! (Cheese usually improves the taste of most savoury foods.. it adds a certain 'creamy-sweetness'..!)

Because Europeans love to sit down and enjoy their meal. Americans are always in a hurry. That is the main difference, I think.

it's all in the culture and how the kids are raised. you can find adults in america who were raised on veggies and fruits and find american junk foods to fatty and sweet. same is true with europe and asia. asian sweets easily are a 75% less sugary than american sweets, and meals consist of a lot of veggies, and kids grow up on this stuff. so that's why as adults, american crave fatty, sugary foods, because as kids american eat heavy, fat ridden foods.
and in terms of pizza huts and mcdonalds in other countries, those fast foods places are having a profound affect on the size of the average individual in that country. in japan, they are discovering that kids are becoming more overweight because of the rise of mcdonalds and pizza huts in their country.

I think it's because the United States is a nation of immigrants - mostly people of poor economic means, with limited access to a wide range of food in their countries of origin... this possibly formed their preferences, and taste buds have pretty much remained uncultivated.

That's coz, maybe Europeans arent easily influenced by media .. .& boy do our fast food ppl, know how to target their customers. . .And it probably has something to do with our "I dont care" mentality. . .
Btw, the chinese never eat the same thing they serve at the resturants. . they serve a bunch of fried crap in pig fat & msg. but when its dinner time. .all they eat is Fresh greens, white meat, fish & white rice. .
the fact is, everyone is in it for the money, its not about serving a quality / healthy product.. Unfortunately, ts all about capitalism.
companies like burger king are getting richer while americans life expectancy keeps falling due to our unhealthy diet.
