If you really feel it is wrong to eat animals than first go to Meat.org to kick start the guilt. Second try substituting your meat w/vegeterian meat products. By that I mean fake meat. It honestly tastes so much like the real thing that it made me paranoid and I had to throw it away...but it will help you. Try going to the whole food market or if by any chance you live in Boston go to T.J. Scallywaggles Vegan house of pizza and subs. They have a fake meat menu. Legunes if cooked right can and will tast just like meat. Try eating boca burgers or getting some vegie patties. Some subways even serve veggie patties. There are a million and one ways to curve your cravings, you just have to do the research. Go to peta.org and goveg.com and get yourself a starter kit. Now it could be .com or .org...i forget. Expand your horizons and add Indian food to your personal menu. They have a 90% vegeterian menu. The vegetables actually have flavor. You can always fine an indian grocery store online or in your area and buy those frozen or ready made in a box vegeterian meals also.

Why are you a vegetarian? And, are you a vegetarian or a vegan? Your cravings may be the consequence for the reason you are a vegetarian/vegan. You may just have to live with periodic episodes of intense cravings for meat. If eating meat is not a violation of your conscience you might be tempted to give in to your cravings, but beware that doing so might cause you to forsake your vegetarian/vegan lifestyle. In the final analysis only you can decide what is right for you (assuming you do not abstain from meat for medical or religious reasons). So, busy yourself with something that takes your mind off your cravings or give in to them--whichever makes you happy.

If you want it, go for it! While I am not a vegetarian, I still eat freakishly healthy. I think some vegetarians have the misconception that any type of animal protein is bad for you...it's NOT! I couldn't tell you the last time I had any red meat, but turkey, fish, and chicken are VITAL parts of my diet! I need to have those to chew on (I'm sure you know what I mean!), plus your body needs the amino acids from high protein sources to rebuild and function in the day-to-day! So if you want the grilled chicken breast for lunch, then go ahead and order it! There really isn't any glory in being a vegetarian or vegan, so if it doesn't work for you, then that's more than okay!!!

Doesn't sound like vegetarianism is for you. I'm not sure what you mean by 'doing the right thing.' Life is too short to limit your fun - and eating meat or chicken once in a while isn't going to make it any shorter. I'm a 'semi-vegetarian', and I eat what I want when I want it. I also don't have a weight problem.

I think going cold turkey is the hardest. Why don't you just try cutting back on the meat and wings. As time goes by, just cut back a little further til you don't want the unhealthy food any longer. I guess it's sort of like quitting smoking, or cutting back on your alcohol intake. You have to start slow for anything to be long lasting.

You must think of one thing : either you eat that meat or that meat is thrown away, i do eat meat because the fact is that if i dont eat it, it will be thrown away, and thats what i live life by. I hate the fact of an animal being killed for a temporary use of mine, but i must remember that that food you crave is already there, you cant stop that chicken that you crave or the white castle you like, its already cooked and you arent helping those poor animals by throwing it away rather than eating it.

Go to a Denny's or Friendly's, Fuddrucker's,etc., and treat yourself. They serve meatless burgers. Order that with all your fav trimmings. A side of fries, if that is your favorite, and a drink you just love. That will tame the cravings for some time. That certainly helped me last week.

The human body was not designed to survive on the complete absence of meat, fish and poultry. They provide the vitamins and minerals that the body needs to function properly. Such pills sold over the counter to substitute for the things the body needs just do not do the job over the long haul........

whenever i am on my diets i always riun it. well you need to keep motivated on keeping this. a good thing is too dwell on the guilty feeling of the creulty to animals, then you will feel sick whenever you come close to eating an animal and will not be tempted, only disgusted.
