I actually recently made a cheesecake that had a brownie bottom. And it wasn't that brownie cheesecake swirl either. I put down a brownie bottom from a whole brownie mix and baked that a bit then actually made a full cheesecake recipe and baked it for about an hour.

Talk about the best of both worlds....I cried while eating it. I was also kind enough to share with my friends and they cried too.

Chocolate Graham cracker crust.... It's just chocolate graham crackers crushed up super fine and melted butter. Regular is also fantastic for a flavored cheesecake. All the women in my family are AMAZING cheesecake makers. My latest was Pumpkin cheesecake with a gingersnap crust!

Typically a graham cracker crust, but depending on the flavor of the filling shortbread cookies (crushed of course) might be good or pretzels for a margarita cheesecake!

For most, I prefer a graham cracker crust. For others, a shortbread type base - like for a heavier cheesecake.
