Can I write this down as an allergy?

It's not an allergic reaction, but like me you find mushrooms disgusting. I don't eat fungus either, and yes mushrooms ARE fungus.

No, a food allergy usually brings on rashes, swelling, hives etc. Is it both raw AND cooked that you can't stand? If you like the taste but only hate the texture, try chopping them up into tiny pieces so you don't have to bite into the texture - that way you can still enjoy them.

Nope, it's just a preference. I can't stand biting into a slice of avocado because I don't like the soft-solid texture, but mash it up, add a little seasoning and call it guacamole and I'm there! Clearly not an allergy.
