Chicago style has a thick crust, sometimes deep-dish like a pie, with tons and tons of toppings. The tomato paste is not as sweet as New York's. New York has these thin, thin crusts, a sweeter tomato sauce, and a bit skimmpy on the cheese. I love my Chicago pizza!

New York style pizza is normally a thin crust (<1") with a light tomato sauce. These are most often served in round varieties.

Chicago style pizza is normally a thick crust (>1"), often referred to as "deep-dish", with a heartier tomato sauce with more seasonings. These are served in round and square (or sicilian) varieties.

You can find Chicago style pizza (not necessarily true) at Pizza Hut (referred to as deep-dish) or Uno's. New York style pizza is NOT necessarily the kind of pizza you'd order from any fast food delivery place (Papa John's, Domino's, etc). If you want to find this type of pizza - you almost have to find the local mom and pop type shop.

Good luck.
