I have to say that since I started slowly, and cut out just beef, then pork and finally chicken and turkey that I have not had a relapse. Although there have been a couple occasions when the available menu left me with little option that I wanted to eat. I guess my relapses have been that I have not given up seafood. Temptation has been there for some turkey, especially on Thanksgiving....

Well, I was a vegitarian and then I met a wonderful man whom got me eating certain kinds of meat, I can eat fish and chicken but nothing I repeat Nothing on a bone or bloody, I throw up. I cannot cook certain kinds of mean due to looking at the "fleshy" and my tummy turning. I also cook meat just because since I am a "part" veggie doesn't mean my children have to be, it is their choice.

I don't know what it is about meat that makes some people go back, but i guess vegetarianism isn't for everybody. However, I plan to stay away from the flesh.

I'm not sure, but it's probably one or more of several things: (1)was working too much and not having time to eat and got malnourished; had to start eating some fish to feel renewed (2) almost died at 29 1/2 yrs Saturn return and I think God told me dont starve yourself to death for the animals; you should eat meat to stay alive (3) possibly got pregnant for a day and my body chemistry started changing immediately, needing meat (4) ex boyfriend actually had lots of kids in his home country and didnt tell me (or he didnt know) (5) my niece was conceived (6) I could possibly have had a reaction to a plaster/medicine given to me for back pain called Yunnan Baiyao, making me unable to breathe, and thinking that I then needed to eat meat to stay alive, it not being God at all (7) maybe some kind of lesson from the universe about having an unintentional and unwanted attraction to a married coworker where I think it was unfortunately obvious; maybe the having to eat meat was a recompense for this unintentional feeling; not being naturally good enough to be vegetarian (8) being too judgemental about people eating meat
I went through a phase where I was eating a burger or chicken almost every day, or some kind of meat, for about a year; and lately it has tapered off and I have only recently eaten some tuna salad. Becoming vegan also changed my protein needs; became disgusted by eggs and needed fish in their place. I read in one of the Vedas from the Ancient Philosophy class I took, that it's ok to eat meat if your breath of life is in danger--and, well, mine was!
Prior to this traumatic period, I was vegetarian from summer 1993 to 2003 except 1997 when I ate fish, and summer 1998 when I was on Paxil for a few months. Except I wasnt aware of animal products in cheeses or cereals

Once, I decided to be a vegetarian. It only lasted me about half a meal. I was so hungry for a hamburger, I just grabbed one. I think my vegetarianism lasted about 15 minutes. I'm still trying to figure it out. I don't know what happened. I'm so disappointed in myself.
