If both partners have genital herpes, then having unprotected sex is fine. It's not like they are going to re-infect each other. Since, herpes is a virus, and there are no cures for viruses, each person will have it the rest of their life.

The couple still might want to use condoms for other things though, like other STDs or even pregnancy.

My fiance and I both have genital herpes. We never use condoms. We are both faithful to each other, and I am on birth control to prevent pregnancy. It's not like we can re-infect each other though.

Well...I'm not a 100% sure, but if you both have herpes, it isn't likely that you're going to give each other herpes, so why not? I'd check with a doctor or something first though.

you should still us protection because you can get other diseases. as far as having sex with someone who herpes and you have herpes too you have to make sure you have the same type. there are two--type 1 and type 2. check with your doctor about which type you and which type your partner has before you decide to have unprotected sex.

I got identified with the herpes simplex virus (type 2) about 7 yrs ago, while I was still attending college and had a silly one-night stand. I realize a lot of girls will declare this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a massive mistake that one time and suddenly I felt like I was going to have to live with the implications for my entire life. The hardest part was feeling I could never date guys again. After all, who wants to go out with someone that has sores around her you-know-what? But since a friend shared this video https://tr.im/2P42q everything improved.

Not only was I able to eradicate all traces of the herpes simplex virus from my body in less than 3 weeks, but I was also able to start dating again. I even met the guy of my dreams and I'm so fortunate to write that just a week ago, in front of everyone in a crowded cafe, he got down on one knee and proposed to me! This program provided me the chance to be happy and experience real love. Now I want to help you too by sharing this with the whole World.

You can have unprotected sex only if neither person is showing ANY signs of a previous or developing breakout. However, you can still get an outbreak in a new area if your partner isn't showing any symptoms as the virus constantly sheds. It is like Russian roulette but it is better than nothing if someone refuses to wear protection.

Best bet? No unprotected sex after shaving or waxing your pubic hair as tiny scrapes will allow the virus to enter easier.

Safest sex during an outbreak? Although this sounds lame, have the guy wear a condom and have him keep his underwear on and stick his penis through the hole in his underwear as herpes outbreaks happen at the base of the penis and up into the pubic hair. The female would be protected if the male has an outbreak. If the female has an outbreak close to the opening of her vagina, just abstain from sex as the penis can push the virus up into the vaginal opening and how much fun would it be to get an outbreak up in there!

Since you ought both be getting treatment and one could become cured beforethe other then one is risking reinfection.
