i am 13 years old, and really scared that i have aids- if you have it, does it completely destroy your life? please help.....i havent even had sex

i would get tested, but my parents wont let me, cuz they dont think i have it. (they know the worst i have done, which is not sex or anything with a heavy risk-) and these are people that freak out if im 5 minutes late coming home from school

i suggest to eduacte urself about hiv and aids and this way u will not feel afriad and u will b able to protect urself in ur life

How exactly did you come to the conclusion that you may have AIDS?
Try and use logic, there are a limited number of ways one may contract aids. If you haven't been exposed to any of the risk factors there would be no way you have aids. Your doctor will not test you unless you can answer questions that would indicate you need to get tested for HIV.
What it sounds like is you have hypochondria. Fear of being sick. Do you often feel you have an irrational illogical fear of having contracted an illness? If so, you problem is in your head.
What usually helps is going and getting checked out by your doctor. A checkup will assure you that you are okay. If you are having symptoms of any sorts he will help you put the finger on a real cause.

Honey, you can buy an over the counter aid test kit- not sure where you are from, but in the US they are at drug stores- or online.
Also there are free testing services.
Get tested. If you have not had sex, but have done other things (like IV drug use/ sharing needles) that could have exposed you, then ease your mind and get tested.
Otherwise, many people with HIV llive long and well. They have to be honest and careful with sexual partners, and they have to deal with bad raps from society ( think of modern day lepers), but I know plenty who are stong and heathy and plan to stay that way.

Please ask your parents to have a heart-to-heart with you about sex and HIV/AIDS because 13 is way too old to not understand how the virus is transmitted. It is transmitted when blood, semen, or vaginal fluids from an infected person enters the body of another person. If you haven't had sex (oral sex IS sex...hence the name oral SEX), you haven't been sharing needles for drug use, and you haven't had a blood transfusion then you couldn't have HIV.

I hope you count oral sex as sex, many adolescents don't now. It dosen't ruin your life but you would be on anti virals every 6 hours around the clock for the rest of your life, they cost 6,000 per month.
