No for the vegemite. Yes for the miso. It said in Japanese (and English) on my miso container. I also posted a link to a page selling miso in Japan and they come with the message "please keep refrigerated after opening."

Miso is so salty that it may not be necessary, but I do refrigerate mine, as I use it rather slowly. Check the container; if it doesn't say something like "refrigerate after opening" on it, then you don't need to. I don't know anything about vegemite, but, again, check the container for instructions.

Never heard of miso, but there is no need to refrigerate vegemite.
