Early symptoms of HIV, (one to four weeks) can mimic that of mononucleosis-like symptoms. Symptoms include, swelling of the lymph nodes, headache, fever, loss of appetite, sweating, and sore throat. Often times this can be mistaken as having the flu or another viral-type infection. Some people may develop skin rashes on the chest, abdomen and/or back.

HIV is said to feel just like a cold or the flu.. if you have done an activity (inter-venous drug use or unprotected sex) that would expose you to HIV then get tested.. otherwise it's not HIV.. you don't get HIV for no reason and you know if you should get tested or not.
