"If you are a vegan/vegetarian and feel totally sickened by the thought of a piece of meat passing between your lips, then please tell me why do you and all other veggies feel obsessed with eating sausages / burgers that have and always will be made of meat, why not try a tofo steak or a TVP rib roast.
As you can tell this really winds me up, (By the way i am the son of a butcher) "

Dearest "spud",
if you bothered to ask most vegetarians/vegans, many would tell you that they have zero interest in eating anything "fake" meaty. I for one can't stand the stuff that has been made to taste like meat. I don't eat meat for a reason.
So I'm not hunting for vegan sausages because I secretly long for meat, I'm looking for them as they are made from soya protein and similar things, i.e. help me maintain a balanced diet.
Happy?

No meat, no eggs... I guess it's not really sausage, is it?

In Bath and Bristol there are health shops called Harvest, there are usually specialist health shops in most towns. London also has many Holland and Barret shops. They do a large range - depending on the size of the store. Vegan 'meat' products include the following brands:
Protoveg - Sosmix and Burgermix, freeze dried protein mix you can mix with water and shape into burgers, sausages, rissoles etc.
Ready made sausages:
Wicken Fen (some flavours contain cheese)
Vegi Deli - can be eaten straight from the pack or grilled, fried etc
Frys - including hot-dogs that can be boiled, grilled, fried
Redwoods - sausages ,roast beef/turkey, sliced Cheatin ham, bacon, beef, turkey, chicken for sandwiches etc.
Vegetarian Choice - only 99p but nice
Holland and Barret own brand.
Some Linda McCartney products - sausages, sausage rolls and southern fried grills.
They also do some Realeat products, never seen the sausages in Holland and Barret but the do chicken pieces and mince that are vegan.
Always check the ingredients though. Recipes seem to change without warning.

Realeat make frozen vegan sausages, which are good for casseroles etc Redwoods make ready to eat vegan sausages in two different flavours, one of which is lincolnshire, i think the other one is sage and something! Both sorts are quite widely available, try Holland and Barret.

Why sausages?
You can balance your intake in lots of other ways.
For protein intake try Urad beans from your local Indian grocery shop. Yes, you will have the fun of cooking too.

why do you want to eat fake meat if the point of becoming a vegetarian was to quit eating meat wont the fake meat just remind you of real meat

I would write to the Linda Mccartney Company because they listen to what people say & sometimes act.
