I found out that i have chlamydia, but when my partner and this other partners who he was sleeping with the same time as me got tested the results were negative. I don't have any proof of there test results but can they be telling the truth. I even got tested twice and both time the results were the same. I know he was the only one I'm having sex with and we had a child together who is now 2 and I was tested then and I did not have it.

Chlamydia is purely sexually transmitted so that's how you got it. However, he could have had it, passed it on to you, and then taken an antibiotic that cured it resulting in the negative test or it could have not incubated in your partner yet so that it wouldn't show up in his test yet. He should probably get retested. Talk to your or his doctor about the time frame.

Chlamydia can be transmitted by hand to hand contact involving eye secretions (as chlamydia can infect the eyes as well), such as rubbing your infected eye and then shaking hands with someone who then rubs their eye, or touches their genetal mucous membranes. The chance of this method is much less likely than unprotected sexual contact, but it does exist.

Also keep in mind that being tested for an infectious disease can give a false result if the test is done in what is called the 'window phase' of the infection - time from exposure to seroconversion (when your body starts producing antibodies in adequate quanitity to be detected). Antibody titers are the most common way to test for man infectious diseases - so you could theoretically carry and possibly transmit the disease while testing negative, although eventually a subsequent test would be positive.

The incubation period (time from exposure to presence of symptoms) for chlamydia is short - only a week or two - but in females, the disease can be asymptomatic, so you might nor necessarily know to get tested.

Chlamydia

Chlamydia is a sexually transmitted disease. It is also called a silent disease because the symptoms appear very late in some people. Chlamydia is more common amongst teenagers. A bacterium causes this infection, which is passed on by sexual partners. This is an easily treatable disease if treated at an early stage. If allowed to progress, it can cause serious damage.
