depends on the age and how many children. i would also have her check around and see what all is charged. when i was a babysitter at her age i only charged about $1 an hour for each kid, but only because i didn't have to do any diaper changing and the oldest one was able to do pretty much everything on his own. If there is more duties that are required i would charge more. At the same time she can talk to the parents and come to an agreement on what to charge. even though i charged $1 an hour for each kid, if i watched them for 4 hours the parents would still give me $20. good luck!

What CAN she charge, or what Should she charge? It seems most kids these days are asking $8-10 per hour, which some people pay because they have no choice. I and all the moms I know think it is outrageous, there are adults not making that. What should she charge...as a respectable person showing respect for all the parents that aren't wealthy out there..is $5/hour. When I was 13, I charged $3-4/hr or $20-25 for the night.

Sure, if you are fool enough to let a dependant minor child exthort money from you.
Tell the little grubber that you will pay her the going rate for bb-sitting (what, $5 an hour?) and in return, you will charge her for meals, rent, clothing, transportation, use of your communications, utilities and insurance. Add in education, if you are feeling real mean.
My daughter recently turned 15. When she was 14, she came seriously unspanked. Now, though, she is desperate to learn to drive, and must be nice to get her learner's permit and lessons from the previously "useless" parents.
Ah, the wonders of blackmail. Just be real calm, and serious and do not yield.
Try it, it works wonders.
