A friend of mine loves to throw hints and surprises. It is safe to say he is hardly ever direct unless he is being vulgar or rude. Anyhow, my mind reading failed in July at least two different ways:
1) He tried to bring me a surprise date. She was enraged by the mention of my ex's name and escaped. That could have been avoided if he simply told me who it was.
2) He tried to throw me a surprise birthday party, but failed to lead me there. He gave me vague hints. Not surprising, I didn't show up at a place I never knew I was supposed to be. Nor did he call me during the day. (That girl was supposed to be my birthday date to add insult to injury.)
I tried many times to get him to just tell me, but always wants to be covert. If he were more direct and avoided suprises, none of the bad things would have happened.
What do I do?

As for the surprise date, I never actually saw her that night. She escaped before I saw them.

Your friend sounds like a dufuss. Tell him to grow up and just come out and say what is on his mind. And if it is a surprise' Learn to give better hints. And tell him you are not a mind reader.

Ok, if you want him to be straight with you, tell him. But I can understand how a couple things "failed" for you. #1: He didn't ruin your date. You did. Never, and I mean NEVER, mention your ex on a date with someone new. It's one of those things you don't do on a first date. #2: If he told you about your SURPRISE birthday party, it wouldn't have been a surprise. He was trying to be a good friend. SOmetimes wires do get crossed in communication. So, don't always put blame on him. He's just trying to be a decent friend (finding you a girl and throwing you a party) and if you're unclear on something, ask him to be more specific.

i wouldn't say what a real friend would do , for instance. he tries to surprise you and just make you happy , but then he is doing it in a wrong way.about your love life , tell him to back off Little bit, or in a polite way tell him you can handle it. maybe you told him to be more direct , but you dint tell him that you actually appreciate what he is doing, and you like him, in short make him feel good and important even if he is not, then bring the issue of being open, of cause it wont come just like that.try and nurture it by telling him to give you more clues or something like if he tells you ,you will give him for instance. Rome was not build in a day and his character wont certainly change in a day.

No,a real Friend would not do that, nor would i do that to a real friend-seems as though he is fcuking with your mind sometimes, trying to impress you by trying to be something that he is not-you did the right thing by ignoring him and doing your own thing-i would have done the same...got no time for silly games with planks.

tell him if you wanted to play games you'd buy monoploly.
He seems to get a kick out this so you need to stop entertaining him by abiding and going along with things.
Tell him straight out that if he wont be straight with you, then you're not gona go along with these little schemes. xx

get angry at him and ask him to apologize. if he doesnt, then threaten him that you will dump his friendship if he continues doing that.
if still he moves on with his whims, then quitely move ahead of him, find another friens and make that friend (the -ex) feel boiling jealous.
see, it must work. mail me if it works at sikdersudeshna@yahoo.com

Just don't make friendship with him. I think he is not a good friend, and one dy he can leave you on half way.
Everybody can say you what to do ......... But first you should think. What does you heart say to you?
