I say HELL NO. This is retarded, if someone tried to commit suicide by OD on tylenol they wouldnt allow them to sue tylenol. Cigarette companies didnt force the person to smoke, and the damn warning label is right there!!!!

Life is all about choices. Why should someone else be held accountable for the choices I make?
It's just more of the same old blame game.

Even though I think Smoking is a disgusting habit, and that Cigarette companies are inherently evil for producing something that kills it's customers, I agree with you. The smokers knew what they were doing when they became Nicotine Junkies, and so have no-one to blame but themselves.

I also Can't stand it when smokers dismiss comments on passive smoking as "rubbish". If there is any sort of possibility that it is true, (which there is) then it should be taken notice of. Smokers are killing themselves and others, so should not get money from legal action.

Tonalc has a good point. The smokers who started when it was thought to be safe should get compensation, but today's starters should know better.

No, because smokers know the risks of smoking and it is a choice they make. However if a cigarette company started putting things in cigarettes that are not known to the public or the FDA then I would say yes they have every right to because they are not being allowed to make an informed decision as to whether they want to smoke or not.

I don't think they should. It would be like lying on a railway line and losing a leg and then suing the railway company. People knew that smoking is bad for one's health even before explicit warnings were placed on cigarette packets, so I say no they should not be allowed to sue cigarette manufacturers.

As a smoker I know the risks and I buy the cigaretts with the warnings on each pack. If I am going to take the risk I have no right to sue.

I think the people who became addicted before it became common knowledge that cigarettes were lethal should be able to.

When I was a child, cigarette advertisements featured doctors talking about how smoking a certain cigarette was good for your throat.

Absolutly not!!! As an x-smoker I also have a decision and that i understand the wellness subject concerns besides as the different. and that i think of that if we decide for to torure our bodies, it rather isn't any-ones fault yet our very own. I mean supply me a smash, it says ceremony on the %. that it is not solid on your wellness.

No, because no one forces you to smoke. If you do anything , you assume all the risks involved with the action.
