Xvid format?

I downloaded a movie from a p2p network
At first,media player did't read the file,neither did any other pograme i have..then idownloaded a codec and now media players is playing the file but without sound..any idea..apparently it is an .avi file..

As long as you've got the Xvid codec, everything should be working fine--check all your volumes and sound settings, otherwise there may be something wrong with the file itself. See if you can find another Xvid format movie and check the sound on that one. Good luck!

Do you mean DivX?
