According to scientists the worid is 14 billion years old and the landscape was formed over millions of years .This does not contrdict the bible ,however which says that the world was created in 7 days.Stephen Hawking, accredited with the 'Big bang theory' stated that time is non-linear.He recieved an award from the late Pope for bringing science and religion closer together. The bible also states in the eyes of God "a thousand years were as yesterday".which is manifested in the big bang theory.

Many have misinterpreted the creation account.
The planet’s coming into existence is recounted in the Bible with the simple statement: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” (Ge 1:1) Just how long ago the starry heavens and the earth were created is not stated in the Bible. The inspired Record tells of six creative periods called “days,” and of a seventh period or “seventh day” in which time God desisted from earthly creative works and proceeded to rest. These creative periods could have been thousands of years each. For instance, more than 4,000 years after the seventh day, or God’s rest day commenced, the Apostle Paul indicated that it was still in progress. Therefore, there is no basis for Bible scholars to take issue with scientific calculations of the age of the planet, or with the fossil record of dinosaurs. Scientists estimate the age of some rocks as being three and a half billion years, and the earth itself as being about four to four and a half billion or more years. There is no reson to doubt the accuracy of these statements.
However as to the creation of the human race, there are no actual records of ancient man, his writing, agriculture, and other pursuits, extending into the past before 4026 B.C.E., the date of Adam’s creation. Therefore MAN has been around for only 6,000ish years!

Personally, I believe that God created Adam and Eve about 6000 years ago; he didn't create the world then. It's clear from the Bible (if anyone actually reads more than the cover), as well as from science, that the world is a lot older than 6000 years.
Dinosaurs were just another step in God's plan.

Weren't they ancient versions of Bitter Lemon sweets?
Dinosaurs existed, but they were more recent that paleontologists suggest. Dating using radio isotopes is flawed. This can be demonstrated by dating the shell of a living mollusc. It will indicate the mollusc is thousands of years old. There are other problems with that dating method.
Many civilisations record large dinosaur-like creatures even up to the middle ages and, in some parts of the world, even to the modern day.

Most questions can't be answered with one verse, God reveals Himself in pieces. Dinosaurs are in the Bible. Don't you think we would wonder that and ask? When you become a Christian, you don't know everything right away. The more you study, the more you learn. Some people have lives & crisises that they are working on or are working on cleaning up their lives. I'm working on myself and my life, too, I just happen to have an interest in science & the Bible & proving the Bible to be true.
One of my pastors is a PhD geologist; that proves to him that God is real. Also....did you ever think that when the dino bones are dug up, they are in sedimentary rock? like possibly that they may have been buried during a flood?

bible chronology tells us that the human family is about 6500yrs old.
the genesis acount tells of creative days. many people say that these are literal 24 hour days, but that is not what the hebrew manuscripts teach. the word translated as day actually refers to an undefined period of time.
as it is undefined, it could well have been the billions of years radiohalf life dating tells us it should have been. humans were the last of creation, and creatures were created days before. that is how dinosaurs can be explained

I think if I spent 24 hours straight doing nothing but smoking weed, I couldn't come up with such stupid answers.
Dinosaurs, carbon dating... too much for most who believe the 6000 year hoopla.
Then there are the others with "selective believing". Pick and choose what you want to believe today. Why don't they just re-write genesis so it makes some @#$%ing sense? They already ruined the Bible when they canonized it, why not just get the next painful step done and over with? If the bible is god's word, it's a chopped up mistranslated distortion through the eyes of man.

Not all Christians, even fundamentalists, believe the world be between 6000 - 10000 years ago. And many of us have no problems with dinosaurs.
Hope you're OK with that.
Sometimes it seems you and your peers need to believe that we have a problem with time lines and dinosaurs far more than we need to believe the world is 6000 years old.

There is a verse in Job that they like to cite, even though it is a vague description, that could be describing any number of animals. http://www.skepticsannotatedbible.com/job/40.html#15
Regardless, it takes insanity or ignorance for a person to believe that dinosaurs cohabited the planet with humans.
They still sometimes cite the Paluxy Tracks, which are a KNOWN fraud. Most creationists know better than to cite these now.

I am not a christian fundamentalist but I can offer a reasonable explanation. Many people tend to forget that time as we know it was created by God according to the bible. Until god created the 24 hour day that we know, a day could be as long as He desired. Therefore it was possible for dinosaurs to exist prior to man. Not every thing in the bible should be interpreted in human terms.
