I think that nursing is a great service to those in need. We certainly need Christian nurses and doctors. Nursing can be a ministry simply by showing your patiens the love, concern, and compassion of Christ by the way you care for them. You may also have opportunities to share your faith in Christ with your patients. "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men" (Colossians 3:23)

Actually almost all jobs can be considered a ministry as long as it is done in line with the will of God. Nursing is considered as a ministry because you get to heal and comfort the sick just as Jesus did. You may also get to tell the sick or the patients about Jesus and spread the good news and tell them God’s love or maybe give a testimony about what God has done in you life. That’s why someday I want to also get that course! Hope this helps!! Take care! God Bless!

I am not sure what you mean by 'ministry' but doesn't the word derive from 'to minister'? That is to see to someones needs?
As has been noted, many examples of people being taken care of in both sections of the bible.
After all when you take care of the body that God lovingly provided someone aren't you showing respect for that God and His work?

At that time, as the number of disciples continued to grow, the Hellenists complained against the Hebrews because their widows were being neglected in the daily distribution. So the Twelve called together the community of the disciples and said, "It is not right for us to neglect the word of God to serve at table.

Brothers, select from among you seven reputable men, filled with the Spirit and wisdom, whom we shall appoint to this task, whereas we shall devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word."

The proposal was acceptable to the whole community, so they chose Stephen, a man filled with faith and the holy Spirit, also Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicholas of Antioch, a convert to Judaism. They presented these men to the apostles who prayed and laid hands on them. (Acts 6:1-6)

"If a brother or sister has nothing to wear and has no food for the day,
and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, keep warm, and eat well," but you do not give them the necessities of the body, what good is it?
So also faith of itself, if it does not have works, is dead." James 2:16-17

My mother, a devout Christian, pushed me into nursing to "serve God by serving his children here on earth". I;ve never regretted being able to play a role in that for one day either!

It helps others, and while your helping to care for their bodies, you can tell them about God, when you do anything to another person, Jesus said [ In as much as ye have done it unto the least of one of these, ye have done it unto me] remember that when, your trying to hurt someone, and when you do good, you do it to him.
