No, especially not in the food and drink section.
You need a DVD writer. They are broadly similar technologies but the DVD is dual layer, so requires a drive specifically made for DVDs.
However DVD writers can normally burn CDs

To burn a DVD, you need a DVD burner. And it's spelled 'writer'.

CD writers are for it says : to write CD's.
And there are so many models of DVD writers that you should clearly shop around, prices have come down a lot.
Use a good DVD writer of a popular brand.
Check around in many online shops.

ive had trouble doing this, i wanted to fill up a dvd with files, i managed it by using NERO, free download from download.com...
(and of course, you must have a dvd writer drive)
