That's a good question, I have thought the same thing as well. But people are shallow and interdependant. They need someone or something to guide them so they depend on so called religions and put all their faith in it so they "think" they get rewarded or something in the end. They're too dumb to think out of the box....atleast most of them

Will humanity ever realise the madness of walking in the blindness of thinking that there is no creator or master designer of the universe? I hope so because without a creator there is no hope....another big bang might wipe the whole planet out tomorrow and everything would be completely pointless and gone in a second. Without purpose or vision people spiral down into degradation...no one to whom we are accountable. And don't suggest its religion that causes violence...its not...its hatred that causes violence.
Maturity shown by anyone is best showcased by love in action. Love, joy, peace, gentleness, patience, self-control. See someone with these attributes in obvious abundance and there you have a mature human being.
Immaturity is best showcased when an individual has not a concept of the spirit within and the spiritual side of life. We are body, mind and spirit. If the spiritual side is not mature or empty or dead then it needs to be awakened. To have no spiritual component is to be imcomplete and immature.

Religion is part of human nature, without religion a human is weak because they have no proper happiness or support in their lives. however, a person who has a religion, depends on God and because of this they find happiness, support and guidance etc.
It's part of human nature to worship something or someone, that's why you see most people with religion worshiping God, because they depend on him. however, even though Atheists don't believe or worship God, they still end up worshiping other things, for example their Role model, someone they love etc.
So I think it's stupid to say that religion is madness because how do you which religion is right or wrong. you should look for evidence in the sacred sources of other religions, that way you can see for yourself, which is right or wrong, instead of wanting everyone to walk away from religion.

The sooner it does the better it is to stop all the senseless killings. It appears to me it is difficult to happen in the near future. For this to happen humanity is to be rid of basic problems. These are poverty, illiteracy, disease, exploitation of all kinds. Out of a total of 6billion people inhabiting this world more than 1/2 are the victims of all these problems. The way we are approaching all these problems it take a long time may be a century. There is hope. One day it will happen since mankind is realizing the futility of religion. It kills more people than it saves. This fact is being gradually being understood by people.

I really don't think so. People need to feel that there is something more to their lives than just what they have here on earth. I think that so many people "need" religion as some sort of thing that is constant in their lives... something to blame the bad things on, and something to praise when good things happen. There's so much more to it than this, but its early for me and I'm only on my first cup of coffee.
I've decided years ago that I will strive to be the best person I can be for the sake of being good to my fellow humans, not because I'm promised the "ultimate reward."

There is no madness in religion itself but only in how humans analyze, interpret and apply Bible principles. True religion teaches what we really need to know from God's point of view and is not based on human ideas.
