YOU FREAK THE F*CK OUT.
actually i had this happen to me, and it ended very badly becuase it turns out that she was secretly sabatoging my boyfriend and I's relationship because she wanted to be with me. But I didnt even know she was a lesbian, noone did. well I trusted her over him becuase I had been friends with her since highschool....then after she got him out of the picture she comes and tells me she loves me and all this and that and it freaked me out very bad. I felt VERY manipulated.
Hopefully your friend really hasnt done nething like that to you! but what you need to do is talk to her and determine if she became your friend because she had a crush on you....or if she developed this crush AFTER your friendship.had already began. IF SHE HAD THE CRUSH FIRST THEN YOU SHOULD NOT CONTINUE YOUR FRIENDSHIP BECAUSE IT WOULD ONLY HURT HER MORE TO BE STRUNG ALONG. unless of course you decide you are a lesbo tooo.
But if the crush came after the friendship then just explain to her that you dont swing that way, and even if you did you wouldnt want to ruin your friendship. She should understand that.

If you wish to stay friends with her, then continue as if nothing has happened. If she wants something from you and is waiting for your response then maybe you should explain to her that your flattered but you dont feel the same way. Its quite common for girls to fall for each other as we form special bonds. The less she sees your interested, the sooner her feelings will change.

well, first of all, do you have the same sexual preference as her? if so, why not try it out?
if not, then maybe you should try to tell her that you're straight. break it to her gently. and after that, don't avoid her or treat her differently. it will just hurt her. i know it's going to be pretty awkward for a while, but after all, she's your best friend, isn't she?
good luck!

if she really is your best friend, tell her you love her too, and -unless you're also gay- that you prefer men to women...
I guess she will have no hard time to understand you. It must have been really tough for her to declare her love to you!!

I'd be VERY angry. Because you've trusted her as a friend on the pressumption that she is your friend and the 2 of you have probably talked about boys, you've not though about anything else, so you would have been comfortable around her and like got changed infront of her or whatever. If it was me personally, I would have nothing else to do with her, I'd be angry that she tricked me.

you tell her how you feel about her.
either "cool. i like you too! lets go out on friday"
or
"you're a really good friend, like a sister to me, but i dont feel that way towards you / females in general"
above all else, remember that she is your best friend. be honest with her and support her. its not easy coming out.
