Australians will readily give in to the Americans and be submissive to the imperialists.

Of course, sometimes, if USA is part of the "Allies" you might notice no one is rushing to your aid.

This for example happened when the Sovjet Union attacked Finland. While everyone of course was very sympatethic to our plight, no one did anything and Britain even declared war against us.

Frankly, I don't think Australians have much of a stamina for fighting- not at least for those odds. Also, Australian terrain is bad for fighting, so you'd end up with the war in the suburbia- and at that point people will just want to give up.
Australia is too large for the Australian army to block landfall attempts, and since Australia is using American spy satellites it would effectively be blind and open for attack in everyway.
Your navy is a sitting duck against such overwhelming odds.

Good question. I think that Australians would put up a better fight. But I don't think all of the fighting would be with weapons though. I think that Australians would use their status in the commonwealth against the United States. World opinion would firmly be against the States and would most likely lead to the U.S. being thrown out of the United Nations. Most of the United States' economy comes from world trade. If the United States were to have embargos against them they would probably go bankrupt considering their debt is like 30 trillion dollars.

I'd say no. Given our current structure, it would be more likely they would kill each other before the americans arrived, as the head Australian would say lay down your arms to the civilians. The civilians would jump up ready to fight, but get mowed down by Australian army for disobeying an order. For killing civilians, the airforce would blow the crap out of the army. And for attacking the australian army, the Navy would shoot down the planes. Our rubber dingy will then leak and sink, killing everyone one on board. By the time the Americans got here, Australia would be desolate.

You already have invaded us.

Have you heard of invasion by culture?

With the free trade agreement and other political and legal devices, we are becoming American more and more. Take back your LeapPad toys, I'm sick of Aussie kids speaking in American accents! Take back your McDonalds, we shouldn't be wanting to be as fat and unhealthy as you!

No need for the troops.

I'll be fighting, as I am now, for Australia to keep a distinct culture and not become a political mini-America.

all comes down to the size of the respective military forces. The USA would have more trouble as they need to get there first and set up HQ somewhere. I think it would be difficult for the States to stage a war there. Probably wouldnt be a ground fight.

Anyhow this is sooooo unlikely to happen - why the question - seems odd?

if the u.s were to do that, britain and the rest of the british commanwealth would not stand for it.and could end up leading to war with your strongest allies, which would result in the rest of the world loving every minitue of u.s and britain destroying themselves.besides look what happened last time the.u.s started to attack canada in 1812,the british were fighting the napolionic wars and fighting the u.s at the same time.it ended up with britain kicking france back into space and back and ended up with britain getting there terrotory back and resulted in washington dc getting capttured and burnt down.
