Is he coughing anything up? If so, antibiotics. Is it a dry cough? If so, cough medicine. Is it dusty in his room? Maybe you could try vacuuming and dusting his room out. Then again, it could simply be something he does that he will get over given time. You didnt exactly explain the situation very well, so thats the best advice I can give.

Try a humidifier is his room. The air may be too dry. If the coughing wakes him up give him a tesspoon full of honey to soothe his throat. You might also consider an air cleaner for his room. If he has frequent sore throats his tonsils may need to be looked at by a doctor..

curiously he has postnasal drip. this could be brought about via an underlying disease in his sinuses ie: even an untreated minor sinus an infection- Or it is a effect of countless hypersensitive reactions (has he been examined)?- Does he run even a low grade fever? Is he asthmatic? Does he have Cystic Fibrosis? Does he get many ear infections? Does he nonetheless have his tonsils and adenoids? Is he healthwise 'everyday' in another sense? Does he journey 'nighttime terrors'? i understand, i understand- too many questions; and we're not meant to respond to a question WITH a question. Sorry approximately that. So I shall start up with the main worry-free criminal here... If this could be an hypersensitive reaction, please on the instant exchange his linens and pillow too. (you may get an stunning hypoallegenic pillow at Sears- mattress linens too)- I had to try this for my youngest daughter as she became coughing additionally; and somewhat lots as you have descibed above- different than she looked like a seal! If his mattress is an old one you desire to to purchase a clean one; (as quickly as lower back purchase a hypoallergenic one). intense priced yet efficient too. and that i might vacuum his room, thoroughly, daily, mutually as he's at school- or a minimum of faraway from his room; giving it a minimum of two hours to 'settle' earlier he reenters it. i don't understand the place you reside, yet whilst the changing of the seasons might impact him, please additionally incorporate a vaporizer whilst it cools off outdoors- to maintain the humidity up. this might shop his sinuses and likewise his eustachion tubes (ears) draining in the event that they'd desire to. (and that they definitely 'desire' to, or you will even have continual infections on your boy). Use "STEAM DISTILLED" water purely- (not purely undeniable old distilled the two) And if this all keeps, please look for suggestion from yet another conventional practitioner. (Yours seems to have inventory in the Robitussin group)! in my opinion, i don't lots look after a doctor that can't make a prognosis, yet desires to throw drugs at indications besides. What does this say approximately his skill to diagnose? isn't that what they're meant to do??? Your physique coughs for a reason! Why conceal it up with drugs that would desire to purely be including to his issues? Take care. stable luck... ...And God Bless you the two! Anne

rub some vicks vaporub onto his chest before he goes to sleep. if he still coughs during the night. give him some warm water/tea or milk (just a little) and tea spoon of honey (after he drinks the milk). tell him to swallow it slowly, like candy. it will help.you are right. those mixtures are poison. doctors just don't care and they keep prescribing that stuff.
