In a resume', a career 'PROFILE' means what do you finally "look like?" What are all your characteristics-- physical, academic, intellectual, experience in similar work, your attitudes, your strengths, weaknesses, your likes and dislikes, etc....the sum total of YOU.
Your 'Objectives' come as a sub-heading in your profile.
Objectives mean :What is your aim in applying for this post? What do you want to achive, or be, say in the next 5 years? Eg: Become the Head of the I.T. dept, head the Marketing Dept within 5 years, or be the CEO of the company!
Hence, Objectives come as a sub-head of your job profile.

"objectives" on a resume are out of date. Everyone knows what the objective is - to get a job.

Profiles - I've NEVER listed profiles.

When reading a resume, the FIRST thing I look for is skills. I want to know what you can do. Then I look for job hopping - how long have you stayed at your jobs? Then I look for descriptions. Can I figure out what your job was? If you dance around with words and vague phrases, and can't communicate to me what the responsibilities were, I"ll pass.

Education is important - but only as it relates to the position. References upon request, of course. And PLEASE run it through a spell check, and double check it besides, AFTERWARDS.

Stick the header "professional" there, so you can note if you're licensed, have any professional designations, or have any memberships in local insurance groups.
