Error:HDF4 support not fount (while installing grass)?

i m working with fc4 . while installing GDAL (with ./configure --with-hdf4=/usr/lib/hdf4.2r1)i got the error: HDF4 support not fount nor mfhfd support found.
i tried to install HDF4 and got the error undefined reference to sqrt, after adding -lm in MAkefile also same error occure ..
plz help to solve the problem.

Stop using Unix. It is a useless, evil entity...just like my ex-.
